Second Sin - [Action/Written]

[Ganondorf had been looking for a better form of transportation at the farmlands, hoping he might find a horse fit to bear him across Luceti. He was pleasantly surprised to find his own stallion sitting there acting all cool. Given that most horses would likely be too small to carry Ganondorf anyway, this is a fortuitous turn of events. Consequently he can be seen riding back to the village on the same steed. It's quite a magnificent creature, really. Especially given how much larger than a normal horse it actually is. And... the red eyes. It later prompts a message on the journals.]

It seems as though my steed has followed me to this world. I require an appropriate stable with which I can keep him in. I have little I can offer in exchange, but I am certain some arrangement could be made.

[Later, in the evening, he will set out again, once again mounted, to the mountains. There is a certain beast that roosts there he intends to visit. He had yet to check on it since returning to the draft, but he had little reason to think it would have had trouble.]

I-I...[His gaze falls on the dragon, before they fall to the ground again.

He speaks quietly.] He's my friend.

[dragmire]

What you called friend was but an injured animal. [Ganondorf isn't very good at this whole sympathy thing.] Would you wish that he were returned to that state?

[dragoneer]

But we...[Learned to work together. Became co-dependent. He looks to his own peg leg, once a symbol of what he and Toothless shared. Now what did it mean?]

...N-no. I just want to see...him be himself again.

[dragmire]

Then we have said all we need to, have we not?

[He turns his back on the boy, to let him commiserate on his own fate.]

[dragoneer]

[Hiccup turns, a moment of pained desperation coming over him.]

There's...there's really no other way? [He takes a step forward.] H-how could you just...make that choice for him? You've changed who he is! Now he can't even be himself anymore!

[dragmire]

[Ganondorf merely snorts, biting back his laughter. He shakes his head dismissively.]

Have I? Tell me, boy, was that pitiful dragon that was unable to fill his own stomach? Or is it the one you now see, capable of doing what he wants?

[dragoneer]

[He's shaking now. This was an awful idea. If this guy was strong enough to change Toothless like he did, then what could he do to Hiccup? It was dangerous. He should stop while he's ahead. But he can't. He's just so upset and he...can't.]

But--but this isn't what he wants! You've taken away everything that made him him! [His voice quiets a little as tears prick at his eyes.] He...he was happy before. And now he's just...a beast.

[dragmire]

He was always a beast. He was merely one that needed you. But, if you wish him returned to you and the state I found him in, so be it.

[Once more he turns to regard Hiccup. Hmph, what a pitiful boy. Such a child would never survive the desert. What a pathetic people to have allowed such a whelp to survive.]

I wonder, though. Would you be doing it for his sake... or yours?

[dragoneer]

[So...it was possible to change him back. He could become himself again. Toothless. Not some heartless, fish-guzzling dragon that didn't even blink in recognition at him.

But his tail. Toothless could fly again on his own. Even if he didn't make the choice to get it back, it wasn't fair for Hiccup to make the choice for him to lose it again, either. So what was he supposed to do?]

I...I just want what's best for him.

[dragmire]

Even if you're not a part of it?

[dragoneer]

[After another moment:]

Y-yes. If that's...really what's best for him.

[dragmire]

So be it, then.

[He starts to walk away until he faces the dragon. He whispers words to it, or perhaps some spell, then changes his path towards his steed. He looks back one last time at the boy.]

Say what you will to the beast. He will not attack.

[dragoneer]

[Hiccup gulps and watches the man. Say? What is he supposed to say?]

Toothless. H-his name is Toothless.

[dragmire]

[Dismissive handwave.]

Toothless, then. [Now to go find his horse.]
